Using SharePoint enable the company to interlinking of information, eliminating the duplication of information.   For example,  your master parts database created in SharePoint can be managed by your engineering group,  they would add new parts and assign specification.   The receiving group logs receipt of the parts, records the entry of the part and SharePoint can automatically notify the QC department of the pending parts inspection.  The QC inspection process connects to the parts list and records any inspections that are conducted on the parts.  The instrument list can also be tied to the QC inspection activity recording what instruments were used on what inspection.   The drawing library can be surfaced at the receiving inspection process presenting the current drawing for QC to inspect to.
